Fine, suggest as many shitty unknown underground bands as you want, then no one new will ever join us and this forum will be flat out deleted due to a negative void of posting. It's not my fault Immortal made more classic albums than Darkthrone because Fenriz gets a dick up his ass when he starts to get popular so he has to change his style. For fuck's sake Carnage and Benediction aren't even in the top 50 death metal bands list. This is not "Altars of Madness and 49 other albums that nobody cool or important cares about."

What, you've never listened to Carnage or Benediction?

Are there any Incantation albums on this list. I feel like there should be.

Opeth are still underrated here though.

I've made a lot of suggestions and I don't at all remember which ones actually got listened to.

Opeth is not as important to death metal as they are to progressive metal. I don't think they need more than one or two albums here and those albums should be (again, I'm not looking at the list) My Arms, Your Hearse or Morningside or Still Life.

I'll have Carnage's Dark Recollections replace Bloodthirst.

As soon as I typed that I began thinking of Opeth's influence and importance within death metal compared to their influence and importance within metal as a whole. While I don't believe this list should focus solely on the former (though certainly should be weighted that way), I definitely see where you're coming from.

Quote:
15. Pierced From Within (Suffocation)
16. Leprosy (Death)

I can't think of any reason why Pierced From Within is that low. It should be top 10, maybe even up around 7 or 8. I also think that Leprosy is too high, but that might just be me. I would think Individual Thought Patterns or Symbolic would be third for Death.

Quote:
22. Focus (Cynic)
24. World Downfall (Terrorizer)

Focus and World Downfall seem a bit low, but that might just be because some of the albums ahead of them are too high.

Quote:
33. Tales from A Thousand Lakes (Amorphis)
35. Clandestine (Entombed)

Both of this albums need to be way higher, maybe top 25 or top 20.

Quote:
41. None So Vile (Cryptopsy)
47. Crimson (Edge of Sanity)

Also should be closer to the 20s.

Individual Thought Patterns and Symbolic are to Death fans what Domination is to Morbid Angel fans. Leprosy is more of a pure death metal album so it will get more acclaim from death metal purists. By the way Symbolic is my favorite Death album, and I personally would probably rank Individual Thought Patterns higher than Leprosy.

Updated.

I'll just go ahead and point out here that Death is my favourite band.

Doesn't change the fact that a lot of fans hate everything the band put out after Human.

So? Those are the fans of old school death metal that don't like the change. There are a lot of fans of the band that don't like anything before Human.

Very true, but those people are kinda like those who like Heartwork and nothing else before it. Meh, I like ITP better anyway, so I'm gonna rotate the Death albums around.

I kinda like The Sound of Perseverance best. Though, I'm not a hardcore death metal fan by any estimate. However, I do consider myself a metal fan, and as such I know a lot of metal fans. Most of these tend to enjoy TSoP or ITP best, it seems.

TSoP would be my favourite, but not by much.
