Why do Ryu and Ken share the same vote? Anyway, my vote goes to them.

They share the same vote because there are only so many options allowed and I wanted to include the entire Super Street Fighter II roster. And if there's any two characters who can share a spot together it's those two.

Are there any photoshops of Liu Kang dealing out a fatality to Ryu/Ken? I need one for trolling purposes.

Don't worry, with Capcom's obsession with crossover games a Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat game in the near future is pretty much inevitable.

Why would they help their competitor?

Well there's a Street Fighter vs Tekken game in the works. I think Tekken is SF's biggest competitor at the moment. So why not?

Cause usually reviving a dead franchise that you were in competition is a no-no. Creates more competition within the market that you're trying to attract, and this isn't exactly a necessary commodity so anything such as OPAC or a cartel type of situation where "its good for everyone" shouldn't really apply here.

Considering that the Mortal Kombat reboot is one of the most hyped games of the year I'd say it's far from a dead franchise. Mortal Kombat vs DC did very well in both sales and critical reception so I'd say the series is already back on track.

But yeah, Tekken are a bigger competitor than Mortal Kombat is my point. Yet, I think a Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat game would be a MUCH bigger hit, and THAT is why Capcom would do it, they never miss an opportunity for stuff like this. It's one of those old school rivalries people have always wanted to see a crossover for.

So I think Capcom would go for it for the same reasons Nintendo invited Sonic to Brawl.

Man, so I was over at a friend's last night and this other dude came over and was like "oh shit you have a SEGA? We gotta play Street Fighter II bro!" And so we played for about an hour and I pretty much owned everyone. I try and stay away from Edmund Honda and Chun Li when I play because they are too good and don't make it very challenging/fair, so I mostly rolled with Ken, Guile and Sagat. I never really liked him before but Guile is legit; I was undefeated while playing as him and beat this other cat as E. Honda twice in the process, basically just jump kicked his ass at the very beginning and never let up, because this cat *is* the type of noob to spam the 1000 hand slap. I only used Ken in one fight because he's always been the guy I roll with and idk, as awesome as he is, I just wanted to shake it up a bit.

Oh god, people STILL call the Genesis/Mega Drive "the sega"?

Anyway. My favorite characters in many fighting games tend to be the girls, I often say it's because of their speed and agility but I think the real reason is wanting to live out my transgender fantasies.

Not a hundred percent sure how it is in relation to the sega, but Guile and Ken are/were top tier characters used frequently in tournaments. I remember reading that this one dude (not in the pro-gaming circuit anymore, but a bigshot back in the days) who said he would beat his opponent, in a tournament, using only Guile's light kick. And lo and behold, that's what he did.

I agree with boo boo, by the way. Mortal Kombat, by the looks of it, are coming back no matter what Capcom do, so I'm guessing they would jump on if the opportunity presents itself.

I don't understand the hype about the new Mortal Kombat, the only reason it was ever popular was because it had blood and guts back in a day when that kind of stuff wasn't so prominent, but nowadays, almost every game released has barrels and barrels of blood, so what's the point other than the nostalgia factor?

Mortal Kombat was a decent fighting regardless of the blood and stuff. One of the reasons I still like the series are the characters and story. Also, they have a few roleplaying elements added to the mix which is kinda cool. If you haven't looked at it, MK9 also so-called X-ray moves. They're looking badass. Compared to the other popular fighting games, they're also by far the bloodiest and most brutal still, so they have that going too.
