There are some good points in there but like most of Cracked's content it's a terribly written, obnoxious article.

So what do you all think about there being a possible sequel to The Fighter?

is it continuing the story of micky and dicky or making extra fictional storylines rocky style? I wouldn't mind it too much but only cuz people will probably forget about micky and dicky as time passes.

also i didn't know this

The Fighter also became the first film to win both Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards, since Hannah and Her Sisters in 1986

Well hopefully if they do make the sequel it'll focus on his trilogy with Arturo Gatti. But I think the best thing about The Fighter isn't Mickey's story alone, but Dicky's story that sort of anchor's it. It seemed to be as much about Dicky's struggles as Mickey's.

To me it just doesn't seem like the kind of movie you make a sequel to. :/

I'm sold.

I enjoyed the first one, so I could handle another. Wahlberg could have his second shot for a Best Actor nod.

Post-cosmetic surgery Gene Simmons could play the role of Gatti.

lmao

So is O Russel going to be doing the sequels? I mean, I like The Fighter basically as much as The Godfather, so maybe this could be the next Godfather trilogy of really good Hollywood films if it had a strong consistent vision. But if it's just going to be some lame cash-in Sylvester Stallone starpower type thing it can get fucked.

I really don't know if O Russell is involved. As far as I know for the next few years he's going to be involved with the Uncharted film (what in the blue fuck? seriously) up to 2012 and if Wahlberg is training now that kinda makes it look like they're going to try and get a sequel into production as soon as they can.
