i thought you didn't like reading?

used to, but that was only cuz i found it too much of an effort that needs total concentration in order to get anything out of it, which living in the online world with multiple tabs open all day errday, makes it super duper hard to fully invest yourself. But now I see reading as a cure to get me out of my semi-ADD that i think i have or may have developed since I live online so much.

I have had a similar problem too Wanta. My other problem has also been that I sometimes have so much stuff to read for classes that I can never find time to read for fun because the time I would spend doing that I would rather devote to hanging out with friends or watching movies.

I'm psyched for Inherent Vice. Got the book a few weeks ago, still haven't started reading it but the premise is brilliant. And yes, Downey is perfect for this role.

According to IMDb, The Master is back on track again, but no mention of Inherent Vice...

I like Phoenix, obviously, and under PTA's direction I have no doubts about what his performance will bring. But I would still have preferred to see Renner tackle it...

A couple years ago, rumors abound that PTA is making an anti-Scientologist movie titled "The Master".
Production ends indefinitely due to what Renner describes as a "wall we couldn't overcome, or at least Paul couldn't overcome".
A year later production resumes because some heiress flings money at him.
Oh yeah, and a bunch of Scientologists are now listed on IMDb as being part of the cast.
Wat.

The scientologist cast in IMDB is a clear troll.

I hope.

I wasn't blown away by There Will Be Blood the first time I saw it, but I watched it a few weeks ago and, being older and (I'd like to think) smarter and more artistically developed, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Like a whole fucking lot. Complete masterpiece of a movie. Every bit of it is pretty much perfect. It doesn't have the emotional resonance of a movie like The Tree of Life or Stalker for me, so I don't know if I'll ever consider it one of my absolute, couldn't-live-without favorites, but it's one of the best Hollywood films released in recent memory (or probably ever).

I also wasn't blown away by Boogie Nights, Punch-Drunk Love (both of which I enjoyed when Drew made me watch them freshman year), or Magnolia (actively disliked, though mostly for the ending). Perhaps I should revisit.

Anyway, The Master sounds great and I really hope he doesn't do Inherent Vice. As Drew said, their worldviews are just worlds apart. But who knows, maybe it would be amazing.

1. There Will Be Blood (#26 on my all-time favorite films list)
2. Magnolia (#58)
3. Boogie Nights (#76)

The dude is a complete genius who can be an Altman or Kubrick type of director and he knows exactly what he's doing.
