One of the most important threads was forget....Jimmy Page. :tiphat:

Maybe he will do a tour with a album.

Quote:
"I'm desperate to be playing, but it won't be 'til next year," Jimmy Page tells Planet Rock's Liz Barnes. "I'll get a good vehicle to get out there and do some concerts."

Short JP Interview

It Might Get Loud has been selected as MOJO's DVD of the year. How do you feel about that?

There's been a lot of good stuff that's been out there is year so I'm pretty knocked out about it. Thanks a lot and please do thank everybody at the magazine.

What did the film set out to achieve?

The brief was to tell our individual stories in music. We're three very different people with different stories but there are common denominators, and I think you see that.

The film includes signs of new music from you, the tracks Embryo 1 and Embryo 2......

They were just sketches. In a way, I'm happy that I put a few sketches in there so that when people hear the finished versions they'll be able to see how the work developed. So many people told me they saw the film [so] I asked them wheather they saw the extras because there's a whole other acoustic track on there. But everyone I know downloaded it so they didn't see it. In fact, I got no feedback on that track at all!

Where did the acoustic number come from?

It was something I had in my little folio of things to come but I changed it around for the film. But it's just an acoustic version. When it finally surfaces it will be quite colored.

So 2011 is the year for new music?

Yes, it's got to be. The other thing I've been working on is a website [jimmypage.com] It will take 'til Christmas to sort it out. It will be up early next year.

Will this be a solo outing or will you work with other musicans?

Other musicans. I can't say who I'll be working with yet, but it will be quite varied.

At least format things properly if you're going to copy and paste them directly from other places instead of linking them. Christ.

The Stairway to Heaven solo from the famous Listen to this Eddie bootleg is Jimmy's finest moment on stage.

I'm actually pretty shocked you say this, because I think this solo, while decent, is below at least a few hundred of his other live solos.

GREAT bootleg though.

Oh Georgi, I almost forgot (I had this epiphany about 1 1/2 years ago).

NQ from 6/21/77>6/23

Those No Quarters are pretty cool. Don't think I could rate anything from 77 too highly from Page's perspective though. I have a nostalgic feeling for the Stairway solo from 6/25 at the Forum. It's very sloppy, but it was the first 77 concert I heard, and the whole stop/start section was very cool. I liked the tango idea Page introduced, even if it wasn't executed brilliantly.

I was very surprised about the No Quarter Tour in the 90's. It was very great, but not as good as the Clarkdale tour. I hope that the Reunion DVD will come out this summer and not at the end of the year.

What makes you think it's coming out? It's going on 4 years now, and almost any momentum gained by it has been lost.

I'd guess it won't be coming out while they're all still alive.
