Sure they have bm influences but I don't think calling them black metal is accurate (even metal-archives doesn't list black metal in their genre field), and I'm surprised that their fans would want to pigeonhole them as one. I guess you could call their first album metal, in the Katatonia kind of way, but I think the non-metal is just too prevalant on their later releases to be considered a pure metal band.

Anyways...how about a topic change :P I'm not sure if this was asked already but does anyone know if DDD will ever release a list of top 2010 metal albums? If yes then when? Wouldn't mind seeing what the general consensus is. Also, since Agalloch seems to be the main focus right now, I'm guessing their album Marrow of the Spirit will show up on the list for sure (if there is one).

Cool list, and its huge too! You listened to a lot more albums than I did in 2010! No love for Accept: Blood of the Nations, Iron Maiden: The Final Frontier, or Helloween: 7 Sinners? Those were 3 very spectacular albums! Blood of the Nations blew me away. Now that is how you make a comeback! The new vocalist Mark Tornillo is I believe an even better singer than Udo. A lot more range and flexibility in his voice.

New Helloween and new Iron Maiden were much better than I expected actually. No interest in new Accept.

Hm, I guess I should try and check out 7 Sinners, I've just been totally putoff by the song titles.
Blind Guardian's At the Edge of Time was great though, much better than Final Frontier (though it was good too of course). Aside from that I really haven't heard many albums from last year all the way through.

Yeah, At the Edge of Time was good as well. Another album I thought would suck.
