The Triptykon EP (Shatter) is good and well worth a listen.
Only about 20 minutes long.

This isn't new or anything, but check out Finsterforst's Zum Tode Hin. Black metal-like vocals, plenty of German Folk melodies that I really love. If you like Folk/Black Metal stuff then you'll enjoy it, it's one of the better Folk Metal albums I've heard.

The new Star One is fuckin sweet.
Excellent range of vocalists too.

Also loved Enslaved - Whatever the new one is called.

Atheist's Jupiter is solid and worth a listen- they don't break any new boundaries but it's very entertaining.

Is it closer to Piece of Time or Elements?

It's definitely closer to Piece of Time IMO- I really enjoyed Elements though (yet Unquestionable Presence is... unquestionably my favourite). Elements stood out to me as taking the whole jazz thing a little further, whereas Jupiter is closer to the older Atheist, though with a little new stuff thrown in.
I'd personally give it a 4/5

I love how you always say "listen to Judas Priest" or "listen to Motorhead" as if people should be ashamed about the fact.

I know that, but you still consider them newb bands.

Anyway almost every Motorhead album is better than Welcome to Sky Valley.
