I have a baaad feeling that the Rangers will bow out quickly against the Yanks if they beat Tampa tonight. History says they will.

But I really hope they don't. I want to see Lee own them twice before they go to their first Series.

I think I should start wearing my Phillies cap around Japan.

History doesn't have shit on Cliff Lee. Here's how I see it. Lee wins game 3 and Burnett blows game 4 for the Yanks. The Yanks almost certainly take 1 of 2 in Texas and maybe 2. The Yanks are fucked if the Rangers are the first to 3 because that makes Lee the ace in the hole for game 7 and the Yanks are done. But if the Rangers are down 2-0 going to NYC they're going to lose even with Lee's steadying influence. They need to take 1 of 2 at home. Of course if Lee finally manages to lose all bets are off. I really want to see a Halladay verses Lee WS matchup.

I was so pissed man. I am a Cardinals fan all the way, but I hate the Yankees so I was pulling for the Rangers. They used four pitches in the 8th inning before recording an out.

I like how every common American is rooting for Rangers/Giants but every analyst on ESPN is rooting for Yanks/Phils.

So Cliff Lee is fucking amazing. Sorry Yanks you'll have to wait till next year to have him. This year he'll just cave your head in. And the Rangers bats made it irrelevant.

How many games will it take to close out the Yanks, though? Will a Game 7-ready Lee be necessary if Burnett gets reamed like he surely will tonight? I'm thinking Rangers in 6, but there's always a possibility for 7.

Any way you slice it, New York is fucked, I guess.

the Yanks are going to take Tommy Hunter for a ride tonight (this is about 60% wishful thinking). Burnett will probably blow as usual but hopefully it won't matter (though he has done pretty well vs Tex this year). Cliff Lee pitched a great game but honestly the Yankees offense gave the game to the Rangers, they've been pitiful. Pettitte was incredible, even better than he usually is come October, what a shame they couldn't take advantage.

Well they are totally fucked now. Worst case scenario for the Rangers is Game 7 with Lee at home. Most likely they finish it tomorrow.
