Oh, it's probably correct then. I know on the Aja album, both Steve Gadd and Bernard Purdie played. Maybe Porcaro too, but I'm not sure. I don't really listen to them.

This. I just noticed it's not on there. Huge oversight. Also, should "Hex Enduction Hour" by The Fall be added? It's an insane double drumming lineup with Paul Hanley and Karl Burns.

I think #49 is a much better spot. I don't think it's even the greatest Who drumming album let alone #2 of all drumming albums.

I actually think Burn should replace Machine Head for Paice. I mean yeah the drum break in Space Truckin' is pretty signature, and the loose jazzy stuff on Lazy is nice, but overall Burn is more consistent with better drumming.

Oh fuck yah. Maybe not as consistent as the other two, but definitely.

The title track to Burn is just explosive, one of Paice's best. Then you have Lay Down Stay Down, You Fool No One...

I'm still conflicted as to whether Space Truckin' or Fireball is better. Damn Deep Purple was amazing. Every single member of that band was insanely talented, and they all got to show off on Machine Head.

Fireball vs. Space Truckin' is tough. But Fireball was, like, the very first example of speed metal drumming. Pretty ahead of it's time, imo.

It's so good a roadie brings out a second bass drum every time Deep Purple plays it live just so Ian can play the real drum part.

Yeah they did that regularly in the early days. Actually I dont think I've ever heard a live version of Fireball, now that I think of it......what the fuck?

Heard one at a recent concert, which was almost terrible because Gillan's voice is noticeably shot. And yeah I've been looking all over for a live version of Fireball. I want one with an extended Jon Lord solo dammit!
