I was just saying those types should have some representation, mostly on the lower half. Blink I could imagine having two, What's My Age Again? and Dammit are nineties punk anthems.

All the Small Things was by far their biggest hit, was it not?

Yeah, dunno how "punk" it is though, it would depend on Chem. I don't really consider it a punk song myself, more of an alt song.

You're right about Girls Not Grey Chem, I meant The Lost Souls could possibly make it too.

Yeah, its really really poppy. I would almost say no, but maybe a punk panel, heh, should decide the placement of songs.

Should we make a Pop Punk list in addition to this punk list?

we could, but i say its audience is very limited and there are so many groups that could be included it would be hard outside of a top 25

I don't think it's audience is really limited. Also, if we were to have a pop-punk list, would it be only the nineties stuff or would it include bands like The Buzzcocks?

I don't think the buzzcocks are pop-punk, i think they are just early punk.

Green Day would have to be #1 on the Pop Punk list. For this list, Longview, Welcome to Paradise and American Idiot should definitely be on.

Buzzcocks are an important influence on pop-punk, sure, but they're not pop-punk. Ditto The Undertones and (possibly) Bad Religion. I don't know about a band like The Descendants, though.

Green Day looks right at #1. The Offspring is probably a Top 10 band.

I think establishing a time frame would be good for the list; sure it could be looked at a farily arbritrary moment in time, but I think there is a difference between the poppier punk that was being played in the 70s and the punk that was played in the 90s. And that there is a difference between early punk and pop-punk; at the time, early punk was very anti-radio, or what it was trying to set out to be, so its only later in musical history that you can look back and think that its fairly poppy and the same as modern pop-punk. Would people agree with this?

I would say that modern pop punk happened around Green day; whether or not i, or anyone else, would like to give them credit for being the modern fathers of pop-punk is another story. Bands that could be counted that came out before green day : Bad Religion, Nofx, Vandels, and a few others, but those three are probably the three big ones prior to Green Day.

"Where Eagles Dare" at #10 seems awfully high. I wouldn't even consider it one of the Misfits' greatest/most significant songs.

Last caress should be the highest ranking Misfits song, but i don't think where eagles dare is too far off.
