You described the whole part about the Harry Potter movies as if people would be affected by a review, and it broke an IMAX record when it was released, but I don't see how they're connected when Harry Potter fans aren't avid movie watchers and critics normally.
I actually agree with a lot of White's views, that Rotten Tomatoes turns film criticism into nothing more into an echo chamber that focuses on the percentage (this is also why I hate Pitchfork, even if they're not as emptily democratic)
Then that just turns him into a financially secure RYM user that downrates albums he thinks are overrated. Doesn't make him a genius, it makes him a giant troll who needs to fuck off. It's such a lazy niche to carve out for yourself, if he were that talented as a writer he wouldn't resort to something so effortless and almost intellectually void.
