I'm gonna try again to figure ISOs out, If I do I'll try my hand at some PS1, Saturn and Sega CD emulators.

Does anyone here know of a Neo Geo emulator that works on Windows? I've tried every one that I could find and none of them work.

Yeah, I gave up on finding a good Neo Geo emulator years ago.

There is an emulator called MESS (Multi Emulator Super System) that's like the console version of MAME - it emulates every console (and does it passably, but not as good as a dedicated console emulator) - and Neo Geo is like the one thing it doesn't do.

it keeps telling me missing texture render and pixel format unavailable.

I tried MAME and it didn't work, but I have a new PC so I should give it another shot.

Or is there something in particular I have to do?

Some advice on No Mercy, do NOT use the default control scheme when playing that game on a N64 emulator. Make your own and save it.

Seriously you have to use the secondary arrow buttons on the right side of the keyboard to move your character, imagine how awkward that is.

And memorizing where the c buttons are is always a bitch, no matter what configuration you use.

I find that a USB game pad is essential for a lot of emulators. PC controls are by far the best for shooters and strategy games, but utter shit for things like platformers.

Keyboards work just fine with 2D games of any kind, except for arcade games that use dual analog sticks or trackball, and when playing SNES games that make important use of the shoulder buttons (like various racing games) that also takes some getting used to.

But yeah, 3D console games on a keyboard just ain't right at all, I really need a gamepad just so I can play the N64 games I have. Though it would feel better to play any games on a gamepad.

Any specific kind of gamepad you fellas recommend?

Use ePSXe for PS1 Iso's. It can load them directly. No need to burn.

For Neo Geo I use something called WinKawaks. Works for the Metal Slug series roms I have.

Has anyone heard about or used this Microsoft Game Room thing? Apparently, its supposed to be some officially supported MAME-type thing for PC and X-Box 360. Seems pretty decent from the Wikipedia article.

I tried Winkawaks and it didn't work at all.

There was no rom folder so I created one, downloaded the neo geo bio thing and put it in that folder, put the game i wanted to play in the rom folder. It didn't work.

So I tried the same thing with mame, still didn't work, then again the version of mame I have is from Brazil and I think that's why, I would like an english one in rar format and I haven't been able to find one.
