Yeah, Le Quattro Volte is amazing. Great film. That entire scene where they build that oven to make coal or whatever it is they do there kinda reminded me of that sequence in Andrei Rublev where that kid makes the bell.

Cinematography was super interesting and was by far the best attribute of the movie. All of the relationships, though, felt very unnatural and illogical. Hoffman did a great job at being really neurotic and severely unlikable, but I hated watching him onscreen. I dunno, I don't know jack-S about filmmaking and I know this is supposed to be a classic, but I didn't enjoy it at all. Also, how many frickin times can we listen to Scarborough Fair in one damn movie?

I know. I like the movie, but the overuse of Simon and Garfunkel really annoyed me after a while. Plus, the film wasn't that funny either. Just a decent comedy imo.

Haven't seen the movie yet but that's one big if. Nolan opened the door to it certainly. In the comics doesn't she die when the Green Goblin drops her off of a bridge and Spiderman tries to save her by catching her with his web only to snap her neck because of the sudden stop he brings her to?

Jack and Jill for its sheer cynicism and awfulness is much worse than Clint Eastwood failing to realize a vision and appalling makeup jobs.

Haven't seen it because the Watchmen and 300 sucked so bad but certainly it would have trouble being much worse.

But that's okay, I still had an experience and the next time I see it on hopefully its blu format, it will be extraordinary. Certainly another great film to add to the already stellar year for movies last year. Shows that the Italians still got it.

That was a wonderful film. I loved how it dealt with the cycle of life and death in relation to the earth.

saw Brave tonight. enjoyed it. don't know where it ranks among all Pixar, probably closer to the bottom, but that's not really a bad thing (note: i haven't seen either Cars movies).

i randomly have the hole on dvd because i blind bought it when a video store went out of business and sold everything for $6 a pop, but i haven't watched it yet. have you seen his other movies? i also got goodbye, dragon inn and one more. i need to get these from my mom's house to watch them. i just sort of forgot about a lot of these movies i had for a while.

No this was the first Ming Liang Tsai movie I've seen. I am going to wait with Goodbye Dragon Inn because I want to see Dragon Inn first (which is the old chinese movie that plays during GBI). Sadly, Dragon Inn only exists atm in a ridiculously cropped form of its OAR.

Other films by him that are supposed to be good (actually it wouldn't surprise me if all of his films are good) are Pickpocket (yup, he's a huge Bresson fan), Rebels of the Neon God and The Wayward Cloud

Anyway, you should check out The Hole. Really a wonderful movie imo.
