Even tho Metallica ranks third favorite on my personal list of the "big 4" thrash bands, and the riffing is not the most technically challenging, Seek and Destroy does just that to all others on this list :metal:

It's probably my favorite Metallica riff. Love the similiarity to Diamond Head's "Sucking My Love".

Yeah, I like that song for being astounding, vocally, but the riff to me is barely discernible.

Not a Rage fan, but man Sleep Now in the Fire is badass. Seek & Destroy is without a doubt the best riff though.

its all about the drums on that song, I dont care how technically proficient or not it is, its just got fantastic drumming.
