It's incredible isn't it? I count 4 episodes that aren't on the absolute top tier of brilliance (Bart's Inner Child, Bart Gets Famous, Lisa vs Malibu Stacey, and Homer Loves Flanders) and even they are pretty damn good. The rest are just non stop gold.

Today between lectures I watched Last Exit To Springfield for the billionth time. Truly deserves it's Best Episode Ever status. You could do a list of your top 10 great moments of the episode, and there still would be a load you missed out.

This has to be the greatest show ever, right? I mean, seasons 3-7 are flawless. Everytime you watch those episodes you add another laugh to the tally because you pick up on a reference. I've got 1-10 on DVD and I think along with Seinfeld and Arrested Devlopment is the only show that I can watch at anytime and in any mood and still enjoy it. :godbless:

"Helloo, that sounds like a pig fainting!"

Also, I think Deep Space Homer might be my favourite episode if I had to just pick one.

Is "Bart's Inner Child" the one where the self-help guy comes to Springfield and he tells everyone to act like Bart? That is one of my favorite episodes ever! It has three of my favorite quotes in the series:

"Eat my shorts, young man"
-Principal Skinner

"The Do What You Feel Festival will be a welcome change from the annual Do What We Say Festival, started by German settlers in the 40s."
-Kent Brockman

(during a low speed float chase)
Moe: They're heading for the old mill!
Homer: No we're not!
Moe: Well, let's go to the old mill anyways, get some cider!

Without our Mayor Quimby, our town would really stink!
We wouldn't have a tire yard, or a mid-size roller rink.
We wouldn't have our gallows, or our shiny Bigfoot traps.
It's not the mayor's fault that the stadium collapsed!
(spoken)
Quimby. If you were running for mayor, he'd vote for you.

It is pretty brilliant now that I think about it, I just don't know it as well. Another great one from that episode:

Brad: "Let me hear what's troubling you. Don't be shy, yell it out. Everybody, go! "
Quimby: "I, er, can't commit to a...relationship."
Mr. Burns: "I'm too nice!"
Apu: "I have problems with--"
Lenny: "I'm always interrupting people!"

an aurora borealis, at this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely in your kitchen?
