lets make the list. its an interesting sub-subgenre that obviously is HUGE at the moment. i figure the summer of Avengers and Dark Knight Rises is a perfect time to make it. comic books and graphic novels both apply. suggestions welcome!

I like Rise of the Silver Surfer too. Green Lantern is the worst I've seen.

everything i've ever heard suggests Spider Man 2 > Spider Man. especially the initial buzz which was "greatest comic book movie ever" (before Dark Knight came out). either way, i think the first Spideys and Dark Knight are at least top 5 of 2000s. Tim Burton's Batman movies and the old Superman movies are important as well.

i'll come up with a criteria later. but i think we have some freedom with a list in terms of subjectivity. similar to the Looney Tunes list that i need to get back to. something where the forum members can have more of an editorial voice in establishing the list (closer to how a publication would do it), rather than some all-encompassing historical list. if that makes sense. the criteria would still need to be clear and established, but what goes in to the criteria i think can be a little different than most of our lists here.

I'd say Batman Begins should be in the top ten, as reboot directors constantly use it as the basis for the direction they're going to take with a property.

Ghost Rider is by far the worst imo... Fantastic Four and Catwoman were terrible too, though. Haven't seen Daredevil or Green Lanter (looks abolutely terrible)

What about The Green Hornet? loved that one.

i think the spirit of the list should be superhero related. i realize not all comic books or graphic novels are superheroes, but its just weird to see a list with like 95% superheroes and then American Splendor and Road to Perdition thrown in.
