absolutely agreed. i was just so impressed that he'd recorded something so intensely dexterous atthat age (59!)

Agreed with both you guys on preferring Domeniconi's own version. Koyunbaba is one of my favourite pieces of music.

be still, my beating heart...

this "larghetto" is one of my favorite compositions of all times and cultures.
when the tempo and phrasing are do just right, its heart-achingly beautiful melancholy is simply overwhelming... unfortunately, i do think he plays it too fast and it comes off as rather glib... (that said, gerald garcia is still one of my favorite contemporary guitarists, and he seems to be quite underrated)

oh I got them goosebumps on this......I just finished with Subramanium's Le Violon de l'Inde du Sud some time back. This is so freaking good !!!
