Some of the most brilliantly conveyed youth angst ever caught on record.
Their debut album is one of my personal favorites of all time. I love the frustration and rage in the lyrics.

I voted for Add It Up. Blister In The Sun and Gimme The Car runners up.

Yeah I wanted to include Gimme The Car and Ugly, but they were bonus tracks and I didn't think anyone would vote for 'em. :durr:

"Add It Up" is the first Violent Femmes song I ever heard and nothing else is above it for me, although occasionally "Kiss Off" makes a run for it.

i was never too into this album/band, but if I visualize in my head them in a live setting i could see Kiss Off being really intense live.

I'm pretty sure this is about the album, but it would be cool to see a poll with choices that weren't on the debut.

If Gordon didn't sound like such an effeminate weakling.... ......I still love this stuff though.

The first time I heard that slow part in Blister In The Sun, I thought it was a woman singing.
All I could think was "damn this chick has a sexy voice"....

Also, Confessions is one the greatest musical displays of pent-up frustration that I've ever heard.

I have no rebuttal....

On a different note, it figures Blister would be winning...
