I feel like my posts are just randomly disappearing, I swear I posted about that Vinnie video. Either way they all amount to the same thing, there is a reason Vinnie is number 1 and will be for likely as long as we live. He's just phenomenal across the board, and his feel on top of technicality is other worldly. Fantastic performances neg, good finds.

You didn't comment on it, if you did I would know, I watch this forum like a hawk.

I know it's practically cliche to post a Vinnie vid now, but I felt that one was so good it had to be shared.

Also, do you think Pete Sandoval is skilled enough for top 100? A few links at the bottom of page 36 here.

Wow Yanic was kinda absolutely nuts with that double bass. Not sure he's Roddy, but that was really, really good double bass. If you have any videos of him doing anything else special than double bass, he might make the list. Right now though he really only has footwork and speed on the criteria and I saw like 0 for everything else based of that vid. But that's extreme metal drumming near it's best.

Junkie, what about this man? I think his playing is a little more varied than Yanic's...

His double bass is really really good, but outside of that I see nothing really. The first vid is pretty cool, the second I found just awful, I thought his hands were incredibly sloppy. Double bass is once more amazing though, but really, it's something that you can master pretty well at those speeds with just lots of practice. Doing double strokes on double bass and rudiments and some other stuff is tricky, but straight uber fast 16ths can be learned by nearly anyone with enough practice, technique, and stamina, all of which can be developed. Regardless looking at what else he did outside his feet, doesn't seem near top 100 worthy to me. Really neither does the other guy unless I hear more. Then again, I also don't know the majority of the bottom of this list so I can't really say.

I'm not suggesting that Reed should make this particular list, I just think the way he uses his double bass there is immensely badass.

I didn't hear anything outside of a straight roll and some flams. That was a couple days ago, mind you.

Well, when I played drums myself, I never got up to that skill-level (never had double pedals), so that may be why it sounds more impressive to me, I dunno.

But one thing you cant deny, Reed's pedals always had some SERIOUS kick.
Have you heard To Mega Therion?

Parts of it.
That really sounds like any other trash performance.

Stylistically, it does. But the SOUND of his pedals is a big part of it....

Same here. Celtic Frost never impressed me as far as percussion is concerned (actually, as far as music is concerned as well, although many would beg to differ with me on that).
