You're right george i've never heard him play before, shame on me! I did realise he wrote the Visions - A Tribute to Lenny Breau book which i have in pdf format. There is a very strong lenny influence in his playing, i noticed that on the recording particularly with some of the 'self comping' he was doing.

Another new Santana track. Well, new in name at least and fortunately I could listen to his playing for a long time so don't mind his recycling licks

absolutely... i bought that album a few years ago and actually chatted with him about it through pm's on youtube... quite an affable fellow. (this despite there somehow always being drama around him in the lenny community)

PS... despite it being illegal, my friend managed to make a few photos at the concert...
PPS... forgive the size
PPPS: that dancer stole the show

not sure how much class you can ooze if you're fingering an A major triad... now, the second pic, on the other hand...

man... if Paco tours in the US once every 5 years on average... Vicente's frequency is probably once in ten years, if even that....
and i noticed he plays in russia almost every year (same with Paco) !!

I've heard TONS of different versions of this song, and this one remains my favorite.

Some of Geoff Tyson's (mostly known for being a student of Satriani, and for his work with a very obscure and short-lived metal band T-Ride) has been impressing me lately. His rhythm playing style is one of a kind. Sadly, the quality of his earlier recordings is rather poor...

Seeker, you got hold of Santana's new album yet? I have - it's a bit wishy washy (a little Santana by numebrs) but I appreciate the idea behind it. There is some good stuff there. If anyone wants it, I uploaded it for George so happy to send on the link.

Nick - Yes please - that would be great. For some reason, it hasnt loaded on Rhapsody yet - Ive listened to a few tracks on Planet Rock and my initial enthusiasm is still hanging in there, but will reserve judgement.

Have you heard Walter Trouts new album 'Blues for the Modern Daze' - best thing hes ever done by a country mile !!

One week till the new Bonamassa album 'Driving towards the Daylight' and thats meant to be back to his earlier 'blues' stylings (although the title track is an AOR type ballad - a decent one though)

Who are the other 2 guitar players !!
