Location: Matthew McConaughey has won the Oscar for Best Actor in-- "You think you know me..." Shit.
Yeah seriously. Especially when she's present on the old Greatest and Tech lists.
We were in the process of considering maybe redoing this list.

I'd like to submit Kelly Clarkson for consideration on this list. While she's not what some would consider a traditional female "rock" vocalist in the same vein as Pat Benatar or even Melissa Etheridge she's certainly more of a rock vocalist than Gwen Stefani or Avril Lavigne (IMO).

for your review and opinion... some rock performances by Kelly:

Cryin

7 nation army by the white stripes

that I would be good/use somebody

why

Lies by the Black Keys

I agree with Aretha Franklin needing to be up there. My question is on Tina Turner being #5. I know she is already high on the list but her decades of influence and collaborations far exceed others above her IMO. She just retired in 2009 and was still filling arenas around the world.
Here is just a few and they span 40 years.
Eric Clapton, Tina Turner, Elton John and Mark Knopfler

a lot of these performances are extremely lack luster.... But i absolutely agree with Tina being in a high spot. Probably not no. 1 But top 3.

Its highly likely the editor didn't include soul singers which explains the omission of Aretha.

Hayley Williams' (Paramore) voice is awesome and she's damn sexy.

She sounds (and looks) awesome in this video. Some really accurate, fast runs and awesome tone on her belting:

Eh, she's decent looking I guess. A chick with great looks and voice would be Shania Twain. :thumb:
