so what did everyone think about the renly scene?

i was afraid it wouldn't translate well to television. some book-readers are saying it was bad, but non-book-readers seem to have liked it. it's hard to judge it when i knew what to expect.

I thought it worked quite well. Sucks that Renly is dead but they did the scene well.

My favorite part was Arya getting her own murder genie.

I was hoping Osha would just kill Theon in his sleep.

Kind of hard to watch in repeats though.

Yeah, I think they almost make up for the change from the books.

Well I haven't read those so I have no angst in that regard.

yeah, I'm really loving Charles Dance as Tywin. I haven't read the books, but from what I've seen the casting is absolutely perfect in this show.

Not angst so much a clinical comparison. I don't expect the show to match the books exactly. Some of the changes the show has made are for the better, others not so much. It's similar to Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy in that respect: both the books and the film/show stand well on their own.

I'm actually quite interested in what you believe the changes for better and for worse were, if you wouldn't mind.
