It's very difficult to NOT like Sam cooke. However, it's pretty easy to find him just good and nothing more. I liked both Aint that good news and Night beat, and though ive heard them multiple times, there were about 5 songs that really hit me, but I wasnt completely blown away as most people are. Also...

Well you prefer Jackie's over the top style to Sam's, nothing wrong with that, it's just personal preference.
Actually what the fuck am I talking about? I probably like Jackie more than Sam too... :lol:
But Cooke's voice is like the Holy Grail of soul music. Lots of other soul singers can leave one a little cold with their delivery, but Sam was the picture of control/restraint/subtlety.
