i'm a poor writer because i did not mean that at all, in fact eai and ambient musicians are incorporating classical structures and overtones in this day and age, and doing it magnificently (and that's just one example). there's quite a lot of them, though not as many as pop musicians, which again doesn't mean anything in and of itself (except that pop is more accessible and utilitarian for the common man than classical? which is a weird rhetorical question).

basically approaching classical music and making and advancing it usually requires technical proficiency and musical knowledge of some sort which makes it a tad harder to join the playing field. again, as with every other style of music in history - this doesn't imply in anyway that it's going to die or fade out in any form.

i'm not too updated on modern classical either, it's mostly listening to interpretations of older works on my end or stuff like philip glass. but for anyone into classical atm, i do recommend martha argerich. lord she's so good.

Understood. Sounds about right (in terms of the more difficult approachability).

I liked it only after everyone else who liked it was dead or uncool. I'm basically a new genre of hipster: post-hipster.

That isn't a play on the abuse of 'post-' in genre naming, so no.

Pnoom, you have to keep in mind that hipster is a term relative to the current mainstream. So if being a hipster is cool, then it gets pushed to the bottom of the cool-stack. Post-hipster, at the top of the stack, is popped off, and becomes the new hipster.

I'm just dicking around, I haven't used last.fm in a few years. My listening habits are ridic impulsive/obsessive/lazy nowadays, need to get out of the rut.
