If I remember correctly, it's from a recording contract Robert got just before joining Zep (well, now I see it's '67) (the song is a cover of this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GevPMERdHTo )
Imagine the young, [literally] starving artist, thinking that he hit big with that contract... *lol*

And if you like his Elvis-like vocals, did you see this?



Are his vocals at around 1 minute mark his lowest known notes?

I'm not sure I remember you mentioning it, but I do remember you pimping his pre-Zep version of Hey Joe, for instance.
I also hadn't heard Baby Come On Home until you showed it to me.

The first half of that is really dull, his low register just sounds kinda corny and forced, imo. BUT, when they pick up the tempo on the second half of it, he sounds pretty good.
Those notes aren't really that low, I think they bottom around A2 or so. He's actually gone lower.
