I remember seeing him play at one of Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festivals, and being totally floored by his performance.
I just cant remember which Festival or which song it was.

At any rate, he's a minimalist and never really 'wails', so to speak, but he's so great at that 'less is more' style of blues playing.

Yeah I heard some Robert Cray, and though enjoyable, it remains at that. Something like most Clapton tunes for me

i'm not particularly a fan of cray, either... but i think i've mentioned before that my favorite song by him is the very naughty "porch light"...

Nice one, Georgie boy (lame Clockwork Orange reference).

What's not to like about Robert's style? He's pure class all the way. Always leaves you wanting more, kinda like the Jeff Beck of the blues world.

Bert Jansch, Ralph Mctell, Jan Akkerman and Stefan Grossman and 4 acoustics guitars in what looks like a tea room somewhere

Some lovely stuff - There are 3 more parts (Jan does a lute solo piece in the 2nd)

some schmuck practicing in his room...

PS: "estoy probando los harmonicos de esta guitarra", referring to how well the guitar "breathes" and resonates with overtones.
PPS: what godly technique and composer's mind...

amen. i think he is the only guy on paco's level both as a guitarist+composer... in fact, i'll say he's even surpassed paco as a composer a bit, but that's just my opinion.
i'm getting through his discography bit by bit... i think it needs very thorough probing...

btw, if you recognize the falseta he starts playing in the middle of that clip, let me know where it's from... i'm not familiar with it yet, but it sounds gorgeous...
