Paul is more versatile, but certainly not more original that LR.

Paul does a decent Little Richard (Kansas City), but LR would not sound good doing "Til There was You" or "Another Day," for instance.

Paul does a DAMN good Little Richard. I've always felt the Beatles take of Long Tall Sally was beter than Richard's original.

But Richard is the greater vocalist, imo.
More originality, and MUCH more influence.
He doesn't fall far behind in acclaim either.

Come on, Long Tall Sally was meant to be a raucous rocker with shouty vocals. Robbin's vocals and arrangement do not fit the aesthetic of what that song represents, imo.

McCartney totally RIPPED it to pieces.

Heart's Ann Wilson was also known to do a wicked version in her day.

it was way more than that, I mean at the time he was one of the biggest bullies in the whole school to. And even if you are miserable at home and unfortunate, doesn't mean you can or should go bully and be a dick to everyone else. I mean that's one thing I said, but the stories were pretty bad, I mean I would never want to go to highschool with Marvin the way he was described, and other sources cite similar stories. But my uncle live absolutely anything but a sheltered life from the time he and my Mom were very young.

I partially agree with Neg here, McCartney does a VERY good Little Richard.

Paul is just better at it, period. He didn't define that particular style like Richard, and in terms of originality he's not even in Richard's league, but when Paul rocked, he REALLY fucking rocked.
He did the falsettos better too.

Richard has a great falsetto. He ends this one with it.

Of course he does Bruce, he's one of my favorite vocalists of all time.

Little Richard was far more versatile than he's given credit for. It's just that in the 50's many artists, or rather their record company, continued releasing whatever style that first sold well (a lot like Chuck Berry, who wrote far more diverse stuff than what got released as singles). But Richard was amazingly versatile with his voice.

Here's one of his gospel songs where doesn't even sound like the Little Richard everyone knows. Totally restrained, but passionate.

Yeah that really didn't sound like the Little Richard we all know. Great one! Is that really a gospel song though? Doesn't quite sound it to me, but a great, unexpected performance regardless.

Still like his shouting better. He did that better than anyone, James Brown included, imo.
