Yup, Santana's is a cover. None of his versions top any version with Green.

The Chain is great, but Go Your Own Way isn't THAT bad. I'm not the biggest fan of that type of 'easy-listening' rock, but there's always exceptions.

John McVie has been the bass player for Mac throughout ALL lineups.
Although it was Peter Green who did that live bass solo I showed you. That was actually better than anything McVie could've done, more than likely.

From what I've heard, he's not bad at all. He actually started out in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers (with Clapton).
Capable player, nothing extraordinary, imo.

That album is devastating. Any fan of killer blues-rock needs it in their collection.
I have the first two volumes, still need the third.

The bass throughout the whole thing is just utterly jaw-dropping.

It blows my mind, the bass stays fresh and exciting throughout the whole 8/9 minutes.

Speaking of Entwistle, shouldn't My Generation be his highest?
I mean, that was one of the very first examples of rock bass guitar being a 'lead instrument', much like Keith did with his drumming.

Squire has said Entwistle and Macca were his two huge influences.

I'm not really worrying about fixing this list right now tbh. Main list needs to get finished first. Feel free to discuss performances here at will though

Nearly indistinguishable from Squire.

Ariel I think this is pretty killing, what do u think? Bass solo around 3:24 as well, but the whole thing is pretty cool fusion
