i don't think i bought one album from last year. This year I plan to buy 3:

Beach House
Chromatics
MBV's catalog reissue

I also haven't even heard the chromatics, so it will be a neat blind buy.

The new Spiritualized record is available streaming on NPR. Haven't gone through it yet, but I hear it's quite good.

2012 thoughts

new spiritualized is good
new sigur ros is meh, they've lost the plot and sound more like a sigur ros cover band. some good moments though
lotus plaza was okay
beach house, very unpatchy and safe. it's pretty but i dont know how often ill come back to it
mirroring is a really brilliant collaboration
julia holter is this year's barwick. i like her work a lot.
trust with the 2nd best synthpop album of the year

as usual, the electronic releases and misc compilations are more interesting so far this year.
