Is there a Buster Keaton thread? I think there definitely should be. By far the greatest of the silent stars. Fuck Chaplin.

I like a bunch of Keaton's films, but "fuck Chaplin"? For serious?

Nah. I like Chaplin but I just think that he's seriously overrated in comparison to Keaton.

Chaplin always has been more popular and always will be, but every ten years or so the critical trends go from thinking Keaton is superior to Chaplin and back again. Right now we are in a Chaplin period and you can feel the Keaton love starting to boil back up again. Two great silent comedians who are great for reasons that could not be more different (other than that they are both funny).

Very true. I simply prefer Keaton mainly because he is far more subtle in his acting (I don't think you can fault Chaplin for that, it's just that I think Keaton was far ahead of his time in that sense) and also because his gags were outrageously daring. That man had serious balls to say the least.

I think that particular shade of orange is horrid. It's too pale and is a little hard to see against the white background.

Anyone else think that there should be a new tier for films that you should stay away from? In a director's filmography, there might be a decent film that isn't bolded as well as a godawful film. I think that there should be a new tier introduced so that it's easier to differentiate between the two.

As is mine it's just the brighter a colour is the hardest it is to see against a white background.
