You mean The Chain? I don't know, that was the Nicks/Buckingham lineup, who were totally different musically.
With Peter Green they were a sheer blues-rock band on par with any other.

I thought that bass solo was pretty sick, with the way he built up the tension and stuff.

The bass solo did have a killer tone to it, you at least have to say that!

That's the start of the 'easy listening radio hit' phase, which was obviously much more successful, but not nearly as enjoyable for me.

Hahaha, If You Go Your Own Way is so bad

I don't mind a lot of their 'radio hit' period, they did have some great stuff.

But I prefer the most genuinely INTENSE music of the Green lineup.
I know you're into bass and drumming, but how much are you into guitars?

Peter Green is face-melting on that live album. B.B. King himself gave Peter the highest praise.

Peter Green Mac was radically different than Stevie Nicks Mac, he left way before. Green is one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time and Fleetwood was a pure blues band, but quite underground. When he left they started making songs like The Chain, Go Your Own Way, Make Lovin' Fun, Gold Dust Woman, etc. I also prefer Green Fleetwood Mac. Black Magic Woman was also originally a Fleetwood Mac song by Peter Green. I do however, love The Chain. Go Your Own Way sucks, so overrated.
