Just finished watching this, and I found it to be endlessly fascinating and engrossing, although I still have some thinking left to do concerning what it all means. But the one element of the film that captivated me the most while watching it was seeing the acting styles of Bibi Andersson and Liv Ullmann bounce off each other when they were living in that cottage, a dynamic so powerful that I had a hard time deciding who gave the more effective performance.
On one side, you have Andersson showing her emotions through both quiet and loud words, while on the other you have Ullmann feeding sympathy from you with her quiet restraint. idkm, ijdk
So who moved you the most: Andersson, or Ullman?
