They were both pretty experimental.

If I absolutely had to choose, I'd probably go Emerson by a hair.
Stuff like The Three Fates is just so brilliant...

Most of what Emerson played I don't consider listenable at all. Wakeman had a good stretch with Yes for a while.

Well neither comes anywhere close to being a deity, but since Wakeman was actually involved in making good music at one point in time, him.

That's so weird -- I was actually debating this in my head yesterday. And I concluded that Wakeman was the better keyboardist. Emerson just isn't as tasteful, imo.

One reason I prefer Wakeman is that he has the ability to not be the center of attention and still play well. That and Yes' glory days absolutely kick the ass of Emerson Lake and Palmer's.

Yes were certainly better as an 'ensemble' by far, but I fuggin' love ELP almost as much.

Come on, how ass-kicking is The Barbarian? :freak:
Distorted bass, spacey keyboards, and psycho drumming FTW.

Wakeman is probably the better keyboardist. It's a shame that no one else can even touch these two guys within their genre

Yeah, I'll take Wakeman. Some restraint was exercised. Some.
