Certainly a good sign. I was worried after the stormy reception Feast for Crows got, and I'd be curious to know your thoughts on that one. (No spoilers please! I'm near the end of book two.)

slight book 4 spoilers

feast for crows would be an achievement for most other fantasy writers i imagine but because it was grrm people were mad. i think he knew that when he decided to split up dance with dragons and feast by location rather than realtime that feast would be more poorly received because of what povs were in it. all of the fan favorites are in dance. but that had to happen i guess because of how different plot threads in different parts of westeros wove in and out of each other so there was no other way to divide its politics cleanly. splitting the two chronologically would have created about 25 povs for each book, and that is just ridiculous. it's not like it's boring or poorly written or like he 'lost his touch' at all. most people would rather read about jon, theon, daenarys, and tyrion than cersei, brienne, sam, and jamie.

This is the best scene in the series (thus far)

It's hard to call her a naive twit after that last episode.

She may be learning everything on the fly, but she's learning it very fast. For what it's worth, I think Clarke has done a very good job of selling that.

Having finally realized this was on on demand last month I finally watched it. And then I watched it again. And then a third time. Such a fucking awesome show. In any case I agree with this assessment.

I liked that scene a lot. Spoilers follow The other scenes I'd put ahead are Ned and Jamie's fight (for badassery reasons) and for similar reasons Drago verses Mago. Then I absolutely love the scene between Tywin and Jamie Lannister in episode 7. That's probably my favorite scene and I love the creative way in which they shot it. Also am very partial to the betrayal scene at the end of 7 and the way they handled Ned's execution in 9. Also love Denaryus passing through the fire and the following with the dragons.

I'm stoked for Season 2. I think for this show I may actually watch each season before reading the books. The pacing is just so excellent and it will check my sometimes problematic tendancy to read through too fast.

Edit: Can't believe I forgot the King in the North sequence.
