Man, every Arsenal-Tottenham happens to be awesome. Happy for the Gunners.

Spurs have a classic habit of being a bit hapless. Losing 5-2 after being 2-0 up against Arsenal, when Spurs are clearly stronger for the first time in years, is a great example of that. But well played Arsenal, of course.

spurs-arsenal is always the most fun to watch for a neutral. even when spurs went down 4-2 i thought to myself "this isn't it, spurs will somehow make this interesting"...classic spurs and somewhat of a classic derby...it's seems like every other match one of them is bludgeoned. fans always get to see lots of goals though; sometimes they're all coming from just one side.

It's being a fantastic day for the neutral football fan, first there was the Arsenal vs Tottenham match and then the League Cup final, such a shame Cardiff had to lose they did brilliantly to take Liverpool to penalties. Also well done to Ryan Giggs on reaching 900 games for Manchester United only three games to go to surpass Maldini's appearance record for AC Milan. Giggs like will be never seen again 33 winners medals and over 50 medals in all if you include his Runners up medals. Footballing legend.

go socceroos, 4-2 against saudi arabia in world cup qualifier, down 2-1 at 73rd minute, then three goals in three minutes to lead 4-2 by the 76th minute mark great stuff! :thumb:

I really don't see this as a big win, it's not like we dominated them or anything. We sat back and won 1-0 versus a team playing their C team.

great second half from netherlands-england. i've always maintained that arjen robben is probably the best winger in the world when he's fit. slick goal at the end.

edit: matter of fact, all 5 goals had very slick finishes. great to watch.

usa still had to go up against Buffon, Maggio, Motta, Matri and then De Rossi and Pazzini off the bench so I think its a really impressive win even it was just an exhibition.

It was a completely experimental squad and Italy never try during a friendly match. Also let's give our boys more credit, a lot of them are now playing at a high level in top leagues as undisputed starters, it's not like it was 20 years ago.

we have a long, long way to go. here are some things we need to fix right off the bat.

-redo the youth system. fund the youth competitive leagues so poor kids to be able to participate...they're generally more talented. bleachers at a competitive league game are nothing more than an informal meeting place for country club members.

-do that, now the us youth academies are have a broader and better pool to recruit from. even if a kid who comes from a poor background isn't picked up for an academy, whether it be the us national academy or, oo laaaa lala laaa laa lalala thank you france for eric cantona and the ny cosmos youth academy, they've got a better shot of making the high school and then college teams, etc. etc. because they've been able to learn how to play the game at a young age.

-stop cock blocking full transfers to the top european leagues. the mls can be a very good feeder league. there's nothing wrong with that. if it's good enough for the dutch, it's good enough for us.

-have a direct tie between performance and pay. bonuses, bonuses, bonuses...move these guys off of salaries. get some real, dirty, merciless competition on the practice field and on game day and you'll see guys get better...they'll have to. you need someone gunning for your job, money and career to boost motivation and improvement. you want to move the needle quickly? performance based contracts.

-get on the european's schedule! why? well, we can make both transfer windows (including the more important summer transfer window) and the mls end of season and play-offs will get the hell out of the way NFL and MLB's finish. oh and how fucking stupid is it that the mls is running during the world cup?

it's really that simple.

It's impressive because it doesn't happen. America doesn't beat Italy. But I was just exciting because I was watching.
