LOL, i know typo, he held a press conference to basically say hey im really surprised about being dropped and im still playing test cricket, i thought he may of announced his retirement from all forms though he still has a bit left for test match cricket, after the west indies tour i personally think he should retire form all forms, i dont want to see him lose test form then get dropped and not go out on his terms.

dhoni's ban is warranted i suppose, and sachin is in a bit of a rut he may just need a break, i think this 100th hundred thing is on his mind too even though he wont admit it.

Agree with John on both counts.

I think Sachin needs to start thinking of the hundredth 100 as no big deal. Fact is he got his 50 test century's already. That was the real big one I reckon. And to get 50 ODI centuries would be cool too, but he's got 2 left to get to that! Funny thing is that almost every time I've seen him bat this summer he's looked really good until he's got out. I reckon he's one century away from another run of form and could still play for another couple of years if he has the motivation. It's really up to him.

seriously. when did people start givingthe same respect to ODI's? 50 test centuries is the real achievement, no one should be giving a fuck about a combined tally, try telling someone michael bevans 'career international average' is 50!! and where was the farking champagne when warne took his 1000th international wicket? it remained in the cooler until he took his 700th test wicket, rightly so

you know you make a very good point rv, and that sums up pretty well the position of test cricket in india, cause there hardly was that much of a racket when Sachin got to 50 tons .....

I thought that after their second game they looked like they'd top the ladder.

Crickets bizarre now, I cant believe England whitewashed Pakistan on pretty much home soil, and the same team which is supposedly much better in tests went down there so easily. I have no idea what to make of that

Cook is on a roll. Strauss and Broad...not so much. ...And UAE as home soil... Someone is going to have to prove that to me. We are talking dirt and grass in an arid desert where it NEVER rains and there is no natural soil. So, this turf is wholly forced horticulture.
