The world needs less guitarists like Wayne Krantz.

I fixed that for ya! :thumb:  :tiphat: But good for Krantz, he can play scales up and down, bravo! Where is phrasing? Wher.....ah, this is pointless. People like that? Good for them!. But he should be playing that in his bedroom and not on stage. Boring scale exercise repetitions with a few generic licks, baaaaah. This guy cant solo. He sounds like that homeless dude on my street corner playing for change. :snacks:

This is the worst post ive ever seen.

Well, it's also 100% true, thats why it bugs you all the wrong way. If you dont hear scale pattern exercises in that uncoherent thing you might call a solo, then you are tone deaf.

Jeez you guys...and I thought Echoes was bad. Eeeeh im leaving this dump of a forum. Feel free to ban me since this place is so retarded you dont even have an option to delete your account. So long deaf fools!

Hahahahaha, oooh, good one. Thanks, I needed a good laugh. You know, even if didn't (I guess in that case I wouldn't be making a nice living out of it for the past 20 years...) at least I could say that I have good taste in it, which is more than can be said about you. Your love for generic guitarists and/or wankers (Yng...right. Says it all) is well documented. :thumb:

No one's forcing you to post here, you know. And yes, based on some of your comments here, I can safely say that you don't understand guitar playing. Wayne Krantz is an astonishingly talented guitarist whose skill is blatantly apparent when you watch the vids posted here. Only someone who didn't comprehend basic theory would use those words that you used about Krantz's playing. That, or someone who's trolling, which wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Instead of unfunny jabs, why don't you use your 20 years of experience and explain just what Krantz is doing wrong?

And he flees with his tail between his legs after a successful trolling attempt. Why am I not surprised?

It's like whenever someone plays moderately quickly people like rusty and echoes resort to calling their playing 'scale exercises' or crap like that.

What bothers me isn't how they don't like fast playing, it's how they don't accept that it's not their cup of tea, but write it off as having no artistic merit.

I see a number of classic trolling techniques. One is the obvious one where someone brushes aside an obviously skilled performance as incompetent scale exercises, which isn't just a case of having a different opinion, it's simply wrong. It's like saying Michael Jordan can't dunk, or that Garry Kasparov is a shitty chess player. When guitar playing reaches a certain level, there are some things that are just factual.

Another is the oft-seen "X years of experience", where someone uses this to defend their opinions, even if this person has no evidence to back up said experience claims. What is the response when someone asks to hear clips of this person's music? "I'm not wasting my time posting my music online", or similar.

And of course: "You people are deaf. Enjoy being ignorant, I'm outta here!"

Great stuff, he was definitely ahead of his time.

Not the best sound quality but EJ kills it here, one of the best performances ive seen from him on youtube. I often enjoy his chordal improvisations as much his actual songs.

He's just playing random scales up and down with no phrasing.
