Personally I agree, but from a "heavy metal list" standpoint rather than a general music view- which these lists should be anyway. Are these still 'greatest' lists, or are they more subjective? A couple of my favourite Queensryche tracks, Best I Can and Breaking the Silence I absolutely adore though have no place on a top 10.

I'm thinking the Death list needs a massive overhaul. No way should Philosopher be #1, Crystal Mountain should also be lower, and A Moment of Clarity being in the list at all is just ridiculous. If you want a deep cut in there pick something from the first two albums, since the list is lacking in that department anyway. #1 should be either Pull The Plug or Zombie Ritual. I prefer the latter, but most lean toward the former.

That Ryche list looks good to me I guess. I just have having the cheesy "popular" songs up that high, but I guess I cant complain.

So do I but I think Silent Lucidity should still make the top 10 due to its immense popularity at that time- though I won't lose any sleep if it's omitted.

I think Spirit Crusher should move into 7 on that list. I wouldn't drop The Philosopher any lower than 3. Personally I'd swap Symbolic and Crystal Mountain too but I don't think there's a whole lot in it and I'm no Death expert.

Let me get some opinions on the number 10 pick. My vote is for Evil Dead.

The Death list was exactly perfect how it was, except maybe swap Moment of Clarity with Spirit Crusher.

What is so special about A Moment of Clarity? It has great solos? So do 95% of all Death songs. I've never heard anyone outside this board claim it as even the best song of the album.

Normally I dont care for poppy radio stuff, but that song is just badass, plus it was a huge hit for them and proved they could still be big after Dio left.

ALSO, why is there no list for Alcatrazz? They were one hell of a metal band, small discography notwithstanding...

Because after Dio left their music ceased to be metal.

Yup. And even with him it was barely metal at times to begin with by modern judgements.
