I'm going by which albums are the most critically acclaimed.
The Who Sell Out......eh, maybe. Not really a mind-blowing album but there's some good stuff.

Y'know, it's hilarious how you do nothing but whine about my taste, yet you continue to comment on everything I say.
JUST DONT FUCKING POST ANY COMMENTS TO ME.

Can you really not grasp that concept?

I don't enjoy it nearly as much as their first 5 albums.

The Who Sell Out is fantastic, the little commercial jingles are entertaining and as for the actual songs I find it to be consistantly excellent considering how stylistically all over the place it is.

I'm also pretty sure it's actually more critically acclaimed than Tommy is.

Not adding it to The Who's string is pretty bogus IMO.

Sell Out is more critically acclaimed than Tommy?!
I'm at a loss for words there...

Sell Out was praised for the unique things it incorporated, but Tommy is hailed as a masterpiece by...like.....everyone.

And yeah I know there could have been much better choices.

However, dreamcoil's comment that "I dont think any music after 1975 is good" (paraphrase) is pure, unadulterated, steaming horse shit.

You can lock it, dont comment on it, or choose to have a discussion. I'm totally cool with all three options.

Ok, I can kind of see why you're a lesser fan of it. Certainly an unusual opinion, but it does have a different feel than the proceeding abums.

Most of your posts about music on this forum are very focused on "classic rock" though.

The Beatles, although personally I'd drop Abbey Road and put in Magical Mystery Tour (or even go back to Help!).

Dylan a close second, and The Who a less close third.

For just a run of three albums, I would probably go with the first three Run-DMC albums. They are just great, probably better than any three straight Beatles albums. (At least if you count MMT, which means that my two favorite Beatle albums, Revolver and the White Album, aren't part of a run of three.) But Run-DMC quickly went downhill from there, and if you go to five albums they've fallen well behind.

The five Bangles albums are a pretty darn good run, too, although since the first one came out in 1984 and the fifth last year, it's not really a run. B^)

Dude you gotta be kidding me. I love Tommy, but there are a lot of people who don't like that album. In fact I think Tommy is one of the finest examples of hype backlash in popular music.
