I could go with Ride The Lightning too. Probably their most acclaimed album from a guitar standpoint.

Okay, cut the bullshit, Echoes. This is borderline trolling, and you're only making it harder to follow this thread.

Tommy is a rhythm guitar tour de force, man.

I was actually referring to another comment he made, about "Dear Prudence" being a massive influence on metal because it's in drop-D...

I replied right after deleting the post.

Not really. I mean, Clapton's work with Cream was a big reason why metal started existing in the first place. It's not a world of difference between the massive "Sunshine of Your Love" riff and stuff like "N.I.B.", for example. I also don't think that a song like "Tales of Brave Ulysses" needs a lot of reworking to become a massive metal epic.

But influencing and inspiring metal, and actually being a metal musician, those are of course two different things. But we all know that. Well, most of us.

But I believe Echoes said it was Clapton's work on Fresh Cream that was metal or something (I think he cited Spoonful as an example, in which case I dont hear it, that's as blues-rock as it gets).

Agree on the albums?

Not in the way you wanted it to, though. You've done it in a few other threads and it's incredibly annoying, like everything else you do around here.

If it's so "annoying", then dont comment. Problem solved. Glad I could help ya.

Now, anyone have opinions on the next 10?

Dark Side of the Moon, Nevermind, The White Album, Tommy, OK Computer, Elephant, Ten, etc.

And yes, I think that Cream and The Beatles have lots of influence over Heavy Metal.
