And those neat acoustic interludes. Lotsa light and shade.

I can agree with that. Master Of Reality was the album where he pretty much abandoned all the bluesy stuff and just went balls-out metal 100%.

And it does have more acclaim (guitar wise) than the debut, and probably as much influence.

...and as a result defined the Iommi sound, which in turn is the Sabbath sound.

You think Dark Side is top 20?
It does have two incredible solos (Time and Money), but I dont hear much else.
Great guitar sound throughout though.

I was actually think WYWH. The title track(s) contain some of the most influential guitar playing of any record I can think of, Have a Cigar has a mean solo and Wish You Were Here is pretty influential as far as acoustic rock playing goes.

As much of a fan of Innuendo I am, I don't think it would fit the list. A Night at the Opera, on the other hand...

Doing 5 at a time seems a little easier. Anyone agree with that? ^

After School Session
Axis: Bold As Love
Paranoid
Layla
Rising Force

That's how I would order them. This doesn't necessarily mean I think these are definitely the right albums to be 11-15, but I would sequence them like this.

Hmm, not sure if Axis is THAT representative of Jimi's brilliance, at least not on the level of AYE and EL.

What other albums can you think of that are more deserving?

What should be the highest Metallica album? Puppets was always the highest on the old list, but Kill Em All has more originality...and basically set the template for all speed riffing albums to follow.
