These 69 love songs are pretty good Avery. I would not go so far as to call them "incredibly beautiful" but I'm definitely gonna hear them all(I've heard like fifteen). Busby Berkley Dreams is fantastic. Makes me think of Bruce Springsteen.

They're growers though and very varied, some of them definitely are incredibly beautiful though ("Abigail, Belle of Kilronan", "The Way You Say Good-Night", "No One Will Ever Love You," "All My Little Words", "Nothing Matters When We're Dancing," "Acoustic Guitar" etc.)

Well, obviously this is only semantics, but for me there's a big difference between beautiful and incredibly beautiful. Not that I speak in those terms, but there aren't more than a handful of songs that I would say are incredibly beautiful. But I digress. We should probably move this conversation to the actual Stephen Merritt thread.

I suppose I was over exaggerating with the term incredibly, but I was talking about the songs he posted from the album The Wayward Bus, not the ones from 69 love songs.

So far I've listened to the first volume of the album couple of times, good stuff. Some of the tracks remind me a bit of Vedder's solo album actually. I also dig Stephin Merritt's voice, that soulful baritone deepness and minimalistic instruments work together really well. At the moment my biggest favourite is "I Think I Need a New Heart".

I can definitely vouch for 69 love songs being a grower, its a bummer my pc busted, i had really gotten into the 1st disk, and was about to move onto the second. Book of love, think i need a new heart and luckiest guy are such amazing tunes
