Dammit. That would've been so cool. Oh well. I've been anticipating the next Batman for so long.

I'm still just eager to see festival 2011 (or even earlier) releases, chiefly This Is Not a Film, The Turin Horse, Mysteries of Lisbon, Kill List and The Raid.

Does not seem to be Alien/Blade Runner-style Scott at all. Production wise, this basically confirms that the "beautiful dinginess" of those two films will be lost for an attempt at Cameron-meets-Kubrick cleanliness which has never been Scott's forte. As for the directing, editing, and acting styles... hopefully this is just a case of traileritis.

i think it doesn't look as dingy because it's been 30 years since blade runner and he has way more money. still looks pretty awesome.

"big things have small beginnings" hehe

I agree. Part of the reason those films look the way they do is because of the challenges he face with the limited budget of the time. The budget for Prometheus is probably ten times the budget for Alien.

He should work with a smaller budget then. Or he should put the bigger budget towards dingy classical effects rather than this overly clean antiseptic CGI vomit.

Anyway the UK trailer is different:

if it's only that cosmetic touch that distinguishes it from alien and blade runner then it won't bother me. if it tries to look grandiose to compensate for lack of substance than it will bother me. like sunshine, which i love. i thought it accomplished both really well.
