Picked up the first season at the Salvation Army for $6 and holy moly, how have I missed out on this? If things keep up the way they are, this could be my new favorite tv show ever.

i watched it a few years ago. miguel alvarez was probably my favourite. can't ever look at j.k. simmons the same though. watching juno was an interesting experience, i was just waiting for some nasty, sadistic shit. where are you up to?

I just finished the first season and at the moment, I'm kinda afraid to go forward, cause it's like they just finished everything with the first season (ambiguously, but finished), I can't see it going any further. Prison riot and half the cast being killed off is kinda a hard act to follow. But if they do make it work, I will have to submit to this as the best show I've ever seen.

I didn't like the way they ended the series. I thought that a better last season would have shown the total corruption of Beecher culminating with him taking over Oz' drug trade...

That would also have been unrealistic. I thought they left quite a lot of things uncertain at the end.
Pretty horrific show.

He was responsible for at least three murders if I remember correctly...

Yes but the only one he was actually morally responsible for was the contract to kill Schillinger's son, which he asked to call off but it was too late. The deaths of Schillinger and Killer are involutary. I might be forgetting some, but yes I think Beecher is virtually the only redeemable inmate out there, with Kareem Said.

He killed both of Vern's sons and he killed the nazi guard.

After having both his arms and his legs broken, he grew and filed his fingernails into talons. He attacked Metzler slicing up his face and neck.
