I'm not sure what you're reading. I'm making it very clear: The old list sucks because it was obviously made by people who didn't know or didn't care too much about what they were discussing.
The list we made is way more accurate when discussing great vocal performances. Why should that be passed over as some "vocal snob" thing because it was compiled by people who actually know what they're talking about.

I'm on Sherick's side on this:

The vocal performance threads should only be looked at/discussed by people who know what they are talking about (Sherick, Jester, Josh, Beast, Wanted, Ikon, JRB, etc). I know some things about vocals (mostly Freddie stuff), but I'm not good with the whole package, so I prefer to read the arguments--until a "simpler" argument comes my way.

BTW, it's all subjective, and Jester's list is good.

because they are two, totally different, ways of ranking performances. Neither is better or more valid than the other, we just prefer one way over the other.

What are the two different systems? I could understand saying Greatness or Tech, but the original list is neither which is the problem.

its always been a greatness list... That's never been disputed... Its just that we changed from being considered hte greatest on a world-wide/whole industry scale... to being considered the greatest among us users..

That's the problem, who the hell considers that to be a definative list? LROM as the greatest vocal ever? Life on Mars? Nights in White Satin? Who outside this forum is big into performances like BIGLY anyway? Its not like these are part of a universal consensus to begin with.
The original list didn't even have Rhapsody in the top 10

"This is a universal/general list"...by what standards? Where is this "general consensus" coming from? General forum users? See my last argument. The old mods? Equates to about the same.

Let's try another way: This is the Vocalist forum. We make vocal lists. That's what we do. We do this because we are vocal enthusiasts and therefore generally know the craft well enough to be trusted making a list. You may notice this pattern applies to the Guitarist forum, where guitar players and students make lists about guitarists, and the Drummer forum where drummers make lists about drummer.
So again I shall ask: Why, why would there be a vocals list, forged in the Vocals forum, that is in fact not influenced almost entirely by members of the vocal forum?

Everybody else in this thread has understood me and even supported me. Ever think that maybe...you're the one who isn't succinct? All evidence points. And despite all your saying to the contrary, you are the only one here who's posts anybody has a hard time understanding.
