I like this list, but it's kinda hard to imagine something like Misery being a greater horror film than Last House On The Left.

Agree, Misery does perhaps look a little high.

Hold on, do my eyes deceive me, or is there no House On Haunted Hill?
And I mean the original from 1959.

The Haunting is one of my favourite horror flms. I highly recommend it to any horror fan. You will never forget the endless knocking and punding through the walls. And what brilliant cinematography.
However, if you're gonna watch The Haunting, watch The Innocents first. One of the finest horror films as well, and it came out even before The Haunting. Deborah Kerr taking care of two terryfying youngsters in an old Victorian style mansion.

Yeah I still need to see The Haunting (the original). Of course I saw the remake... unimpressive like most remakes. However, from the few scenes I've caught from the original version, it looks awesome.
I LOOOOOOVE that era of horror films.

Having watched both versions... yes. The only saving grace of the original is Aya the crazy black woman in a truck

Wait. What do you consider the orginal? Because I am quite sure there is no black woman named Aya in Ingmar Bergman's The Virgin Spring (I would bet good money on this), which is the film on that inspired Wes Craven's Last House on the Left...

God damnit, she's talking about Wes Craven's original Last House On The Left and the remake that was released in 2009. You can be so clueless sometimes.

The original Last House is absolute shit. Give me Two Thousand Maniacs any day.

NOTLD should be #1 here.
