Just a couple of factual errors I spotted:

Def Leppard's Pyromania was released in 1983, not 1986.

Metallica - Master of Puppets is a 1986 album, not 1984.

Hope you corrected these in the updated version.

Thanks, I'll get Lew to fix them.

Wasn't Hunky Dory from 1971? Late in the year maybe, is there a policy for albums that are released in late December?

Thanks for catching that Gray. "Hunky Dory" is out of the 1972 list and is being replaced by "Honky Chateau."

7. Something/Anything - Todd Rundgren
8. Eat A Peach - Allman Brothers Band
9. I'm Still in Love With You - Al Green
10. Honky Chateau - Elton John

The 1971 top ten stays the same, as "Hunky Dory" is ranked below "Imagine" on the 1970s album list.

No a single P-Funk or Isleys album for any year in the 70s?

Only one Detroit album for the entire 60s and 70s? No Stooges, no MC5, no Cooper, no Nugent, no Grand Funk?

1987
1. The Joshua Tree - U2
2. Appetite For Destruction - Guns N' Roses
3. Sign O' The Times - Prince
4. Whitesnake - Whitesnake
5. Paid In Full - Eric B. & Rakim
6. Hysteria - Def Leppard
7. Bad - Michael Jackson
8. Faith - George Michael
9. Document - R.E.M
10. Kick - INXS

Actually, in the last revision of 80s list, the 1987's would be:

1. The Joshua Tree - U2
2. Appetite For Destruction - Guns N' Roses
3. Sign O' The Times - Prince
4. Paid In Full - Eric B. & Rakim
5. Bad - Michael Jackson
6. Hysteria - Def Leppard
7. Faith - George Michael
8. Document - R.E.M
9. Kick - INXS
10. Criminal Minded – Boogie Down Productions

The Whitesnake's album does not appear in the last list :eh:

Is this affirmative action for Detroit week?

None of those albums belong in the top ten for any year. Not even close.

Tell what albums you would list where, and what albums should be dropped to make room.

In time, Lew could update the site with most recent list of 80s, thus the top 10 of each year would have to be updated too.

I don't know about that, but I do know that "Criminal Minded" is a much more historically significant album than the Whitesanke album. That BDP album sold forever in my store. It was probably the biggest selling non current rap album for like 7 years.
