So I bailed on Dexter after about the third episode of the third season. I loved the first season and I thought the second season really dragged. Was this a bad move?

The fourth season is the second best season, so I'd say so.

yeah keep watching, season 4 is awesome. I liked season 3 but I can see why it would be sort of a drag, Miguel wasn't the greatest reoccurring character and (sort of) antagonist.

Sounds like you might fall into the "great trick first round, but what else you got?" camp, and to some extent if you do I wouldn't bother though I think after the first season you know what the trick is it's just quite fun seeing how they play the hand if you know what I mean. Mostly they do it well.

I agree with this, but I may place 5 above 3 just for the fact that season 5 was completely different than the rest. It was cool seeing Dex have an actual companion he didn't think he would need to kill, and the bathroom murder scene in the first episode is one of my favorite scenes in the Dexter series.

Season 4 is a pure work of dark art, though, and same goes for season 1. They're both so good.

Now is it true that Hall was bangin' Julia Stiles on the side? And is it true that his ex-wife is leaving the show?

I can't say the first episode blew me away. Nice to see Colin Hanks, tho.

what do you mean, how quickly and easily they found the revelations killer? Dexter has short seasons, they had to kick things up eventually.

CGI locusts and a Saw-like murder scene?

Yeah. I was pretty pumped after that episode-ending scene of the horses galloping through the streets with body part-mannequin nightmares on top of them. Next episode definitely took a turn for the worse.

I thought that twist at the end of the last episode was great, even if it doesn't make that much sense.
