Anthems could move ahead of Pure Holocaust, but not Storm of the Light's Bane. Anthems being my favourite black metal album, mind you.

And yes to Autumn Aurora over Forgotten Legends.

Can't see any Drudkh album higher than 40 on this list.

I don't think we need a Drudkh album on this list.

Moonsorrow's Verisakeet could make the list.
It's certainly great enough, and with albums like HEart of the Ages on the list it's comparatively BM enough.

I don't think it should, but I'll move it anyway.

Anthems, Frost and Bathory have all moved up.

Actually I'm not sure what I said about Verisakeet anymore.
It's a great album (and probably great enough for 40-50 BM) but its influence would be stronger over folk and blackened folk than bm in general. Still, just a suggestion.

Are Limbonic Art albums any greater?
I mean you've got a fair few symphonic bm bands that are greater and more popular than Limbonic Art, yet Drudkh are one of the more highly acclaimed atmospheric bm bands.
Sure symphonic bm's a much bigger genre but credit should be given where its due.

Shining is performing in Minneapolis on Oct 22. I will be there, it is just across the river. :thumb:
I'll have a suggestion for one of the above albums after that. (Longer than 24 hrs. tho.)

I qouted my own post because I just found out that the performance in MPLS on 10/22 is The Shining Twins....?WTF
A couple girls singing carols????? WTF WTF WTF???
Youtube needs to correct their claim that it is Shining playing there. Bummed.

Though they don't have near them all, metalstorm has a fairly extensive list of live events where you can narrow down searches to countries and whatnot. Sometimes when I check the site out, I'm pleasently surprised by some gigs I weren't aware of..

Negura Bunget were just announced as headliners for a festival here, which got me thinking.
Om is another potential album for the top 50.

I know that you guys love Om musically, but it's not that popular or influential to make top 50. Top 100 however... who knows.

I'd put OM in over a Drudkh album.

Gotta say I'm really, really into Abducted right now. It's currently my favorite death metal album. Obscura is way too low for how it's both extremely musical/technical and influential.

Like an Ever Flowing Stream should move up a bit imo, and am I the only one who likes Massive Killing Capacity? Is it the death 'n' roll thing that puts everyone off? I like Wolverine Blues as well, sorry to say.

One last thing. No love for Fetus? Atleast Destroy the Opposition! Opium of the Masses is one the essential riffs in death metal music.

That's not how we rank things here.

If it was about riffs, Pleasure to Kill would be #1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
