Why don't you just edit Jester's list into the first post? It's not finished, but its a hell of a lot better than the original.

I was told to just make a second post with the revision of the list when it comes to lists that are on the main site. However, this list, as Jester has said, is exclusive to the forum only, and I don't think we're particularly trying to re-do this 250 one. I think that's what he was trying to get across. In that case, Jester can just make his own thread "Greatest Rock Vocal Performance l Redux" seperate, I'll sticky it, and then he can continue to work on it the way it was set up in the old forum.

The official list needs to get redone either way. It is truly an awful, awful list.

Yeah it is really bad, even when Jester makes the sepreate thread, I'll update the second post here. It's just that I don't think I'm allowed to junk the one in the first post because it's on the main site.

Ok sure, thanks guys... I'll make my own thread and copy this over..

P.S Beast... you try quantifying outside opinions for THIS list in particular... It just doesn't work, and has always been at the whim of hte editor til we started doing it in a localized fashion and everyone really gets to have a say. Plus crap like "Come On Eileen" and "A Day In The life" would end up in hte top 15 with an "outside idea of greatness"

Just say screw that. If people have no idea what they're talking about, they shouldn't have a say when it comes to vocals. Hell the top 10 on your list is way more definitive.

Of course! That's why we're not trying to do a "Global greatest" list, cause it CAN'T be defined.

That makes no sense.
Look at every other list in every forum. They're all forum-centric. The guitar forum doesn't give a fuck what anybody else has to say about guitar lists unless they prove they know what they're talking about.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say.... you sound quite drunk....
This forum has ALWAYS and still is, for the most part, and attempt to defined the general, or world-view versions of these lists. This was the first one we really took down to a forum level. Otherwise GREATNESS has 0 meaning, and y'all gotta admit you're a bunch of critical wankers :P

Uh, so that means, we have to take orders from a bunch of idiots who know nothing about vocals but think Life on Mars is a top 10 great performance?
Just because everybody thinks they know what singing is all about cause its such a universal thing does not mean that a forum full of singing enthusiasts should bow down because that's more "general"?
If you go with general, you get that travesty of a list which the oh-so knowledgable forum-users put on the front page.
